Palani Subramania Pillai represented all that was aesthetic in percussion art – a rare sensitivity,
introspection, balance, finesse, classicism and an intellectual approach. He evolved his own unique "bhani"
characterized by "SUNAADHAM" – the beautiful synchronization of the right and left sides (Valanthalai and Thoppi)
of the Mridangam,IWC Ingenieur Replica which, in itself was music to the ears.
A true artist was he - an artist of a generation.
